Overflow is Twysted Dance’s current anchor project and an evolving exploration of the subconscious mind. What began as a solo created for my senior capstone has continued to grow through multiple iterations. After performing the original solo throughout New York City, I expanded it into a 25-minute work that premiered at Arts On Site in March 2026 as Overflow: Volume 1. The work then grew into a full evening-length production, Overflow: Volume 2, which premiered at The Tank in August 2026. Reading like a fever dream, Overflow moves through rapidly shifting worlds and psychological imagery in a way that is accessible for audiences to follow while still leaving them stunned, questioning what they experienced, and hungry for more. The fast changes and constant evolution of the work speak to the way modern audiences consume imagery and information while inviting them into a deeper subconscious exploration beneath the surface. I hope to continue this evolution with Overflow: Volume 3, with a specific focus on expanding the production quality and overall visual world of the piece.
